Am Montag, dem 18. September 2000, herrscht im Büro des ehemaligen Börsenmaklers Thomas Ashley Cressman in Fulham Hochbetrieb. Das Telefon klingelt, es ist Barbara Cressman, Tommys Mutter. Sie hat das ganze Wochenende nichts von ihm gehört und ist besorgt, dass etwas nicht stimmt. Nach einem Gespräch mit Barbara Cressman erklärt sich ein Angestellter bereit, über die Straße zu Thomas Cressmans Haus zu gehen, wo Toms Leiche gefunden wird. Die Mordermittlung beginnt.
