Why can't Ethiopia and Eritrea be friends?
Tensions are running high in Tigray, Ethiopia's northernmost state, which is still reeling from a recent civil war. Different interests within the region have led neighbors Ethiopia and Eritrea into new strife. But there are other sources of friction between them - including a lot of history and Ethiopia's renewed insistence on its need for sea access.
